Unit 2 Gravel Beach
Unit 2 can be further
divided into 3 across
shore components the backshore, intertidal,
and shallow subtidal.

Shore Unit

The coastline is divided into SHORE UNITS according to the dominant geomorphology, whether it is rock, sediment, or both.  Each unit is further broken down into its across-shore components to capture the complexity of the shoreline.  These components describe the unit from the backshore to the subtidal.
